Asiatic   Caucasian   Western American   Martagon   Trumpet
Martagon Lilies   fall 2007 -2008
Germination requires 3 months warm followed by 3 months cold. Give
seedlings light shade. Seedlings are slow to grow. While not really difficult, they do require
more patience then Asiatics and trumpets. They don't like to be transplanted and they don't
like too much water during the summer. They are best planted in a location where they can be left undisturbed for three years. They can be grown in pots if the potting mix is a very coarse bark mix with no soil, but I generally don't recommend it unless you are really experienced with growing lilies in pots.
