Western American Seed

Germination requires 4-5 months at 40 degrees, or fall plant outdoors. Difficult to germinate and grow outside of West Coast climate. The western Americans can be grown in pots, but requite a VERY coarse planting mix of hog fuel, bark chips, wood shavings, and sawdust coated with a little peatmoss and then mixed with some perlite. Use a two gallon pot per bulb or 4 or 5 bulbs in a 5 gallon squat pot. Wet land types are easier to grow in pots then the dry land types. Bring pots indoors during the winter and keep cool, but not below freezing.

Sorry, no western American seed available this year.
